22.09.2012. Opening of theater season

The video “Sviatyi Vechir, Dobryi Vechir” [Holy Eve, Good Eve] was created by Liuba Kozak, the talented director, author, and moderator of many programs on Lviv television, and was based upon the koliady [Ukrainian carols] on my first CD, “Ide Zvizda Chudna.”

I wish to thank Bohdan Chaikovsky, the Director of the Lviv Historical Museum and a good friend of my family, for making available the royal rooms of the palace museum for filming, and Father Yosyf Milian for permission to film the koliada “Spy, Isuse, Spy” [Sleep, Jesus, Sleep] in the Church of the Holy Eucharist.

Velyka Koliada 2012 [Great Koliada/Carol] – Hutsul Region:  Sofiya Fedyna and Friends

Again I had the great pleasure of performing at the largest Christmas festival in Ukraine  to present my latest work. This year, because the theme of the festival was the carols of the Hutsul region, the assignment was most difficult because the Hutsuls keep their best koliady for themselves, and to discover them was complicated.  I credit our unbelievably successful performance to my good friends:  Volodymyr Okilko, the authentic song ensemble “Rodovid,” the folk song ensemble “Dzherelo,” the talented musicians Liubomyr Kushlyk, Oleksandr Bozhyk, Olha Verkholiak, Andriy Soroka, Pavlo Karlits, Oksana Stadnyk, Ostap Pyrozhyk, Kateryna Vehera and Denys Lytvynenko.

Also, my deepest thanks to my colleague and good friend, operator / producer  Volodymy Rapavyi.
